João Ney Colagrossi (b. 1955) and Raimo Lind (b. 1953) have been appointed as new external members of the Board of Nordkalk, a portfolio company of Rettig Group. Both have strong industrial backgrounds and experience from international business environments in publicly traded companies; João previously served as President of Metso Minerals and Raimo is the former CFO and Deputy CEO of Wärtsilä.
In conjunction with these changes Tomas von Rettig, President and CEO of Rettig Group, will give up his position in the Board of Nordkalk and as its Chairman due to several other commitments. Going forward Matts Rosenberg, Chief Operating Officer of Rettig Group, will act as Chairman of the Board of Nordkalk. Matts has been acting as Board member in Nordkalk since 2016, and has also experience from several other Boards of Finnish companies over the past 10+ years.
Nordkalk is the leading company providing limestone-based products and solutions in Northern Europe, serving customers across several industries including pulp & paper, construction, metals & mining, and chemicals, as well as in environment care and agriculture. Nordkalk employs some 1,000 persons, and in 2017 its turnover amounted to EUR 304 million.
Backgrounds of the new Board members
João Ney Colagrossi, Metallurgical Engineer and Specialization Industrial & Business Administration, has been employed in Metso Corporation and its predecessors since 1990, most recently in the role as President, Metso Minerals up until 2017. Metso is a world-leading industrial company offering equipment and services for the sustainable processing and flow of natural resources in the mining, aggregates, recycling and process industries. Earlier in his career, João held various managerial positions at Allis Chalmers.
Raimo Lind, M.Sc (Econ.), is a Board professional active in several companies, including Elisa, where he acts as Chairman, as well as Nokian Tyres, both publicly traded companies. Raimo served Wärtsilä for some 30 years, most recently as CFO and Deputy CEO up until 2013. Wärtsilä is a global leader in complete lifecycle power solutions for the marine and energy markets. In addition to his extensive career at Wärtsilä, Raimo has held various managerial positions at e.g. Tamrock.
The new Board members are considered to be independent of the company and of its shareholders.
